The Truth About Beauty
Over the past few weeks two of my favourite brunettes Angelina Jolie and Penelope Cruz have come out and said that women look more beautiful if they feel good about themselves and feel loved.
Now we all may feel a little cynical about these remarks, because frankly when it comes to beauty – both these women have won life’s genetic lottery.
But upon reflection, I get where they are coming from. Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes.
As a hairdresser beauty is my business and I watch women all day stare into mirrors contemplating how they look and what they want to look like. They put off making changes to their wardrobes, hair or make up until they loose that elusive 5,10, 15 or 20 kgs.
They worry about and focus on their faults. Whilst there is nothing wrong with wanting to improve and to feel healthier, in reality the clients I have who look the most beautiful are those who are happy within themselves and who make the most of their assets.
A smile genuinely is a great beauty accessory.
