Australian Beauty Awards Competition
- Instructions on how to enter and prizes form part of these conditions of entry. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these conditions of entry.
- Entry is open to residents of Australia only. Employees of the Promoter, their immediate families and agencies associated with this promotion are not eligible to enter. If the winner is under 18 years of age, the prize will be awarded to the winner’s parent or legal guardian. Only one entry per person will be permitted.
- The entire promotional period opens at 9.00am on 26 March, 2010 and closes on the 14th May, 2010; at 11.59pm.Daily promotional periods are as outlined in the table below. This is a game of skill; chance plays no part in determining the winner. Each entry will be individually judged based on its literary and creative merit. To enter, individuals must visit www.beautyawards.com.au during the promotional period and follow the prompts to complete the complete the survey and then provide their name, address, daytime telephone number, email, DOB and tell us in 25 words or less what is their favourite hair tool and why. For the removal of doubt, an invalid entry consisting of a completed survey, may still be included for research purposes only.

There are 2 levels of judging in this promotion. The Daily judging and the Major prize winner judging. The daily judging will take place the day after the closing of each daily promotion. All entries received in the promotional period for the previous day will be included in the daily judging . For the removal of doubt entries do not carry over into any other Daily judging period. Daily judging will take place at the Promoter’s premises at and will begin at 8:30am each day between 30th March and 17th May 2010 (inclusive) . The best entry as determined by the judges will be deemed the daily winner. Each daily winner will be notified by phone and mail using contact details provided in their entry.
Major Prize Winner: At the end of the promotion , all entries received will be included in the major Prize judging. The judges will determine which entry they deem to be the best overall. The best entry will be deemed the Major Prize Winner. Major Prize winner will be notified by phone and mail using contact details provided in their entry. Winner notification will occur by the 18th June 2010. The judges’ decision in relation to any aspect of the competition will be final and binding on every person who enters. No correspondence will be entered into. By entering the promotion, unless otherwise advised by the entrant, each entrant consents to the information they submit with their entry being entered into a database and the Promoter may use this information in any media for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes without any further reference or payment to the entrant. Major Prize Winner: the the Major Prize winner and will receive the major prize of a $5,000 shopping spree with Bronwyn McCahon, Editor of Cosmopolitan magazine, in Sydney ($5,000 credit supplied by ACP Magazines). If by any chance that Bronwyn McCahon is unable to attend Leigh Campbell will take her place or share the time allocated to the shopping spree. Prize does not include any ancillary costs associated with redeeming the prize. These are the responsibility of the winner. If the winner is a resident of any state other than Sydney, the prize will also include transport to and from Sydney (same day return) in order for the winner to redeem their prize. The Major Prize is subject to booking and availability of Bronwyn McCahon / Leigh Campbell. The Major Prize must be redeemed in full by 31st October 2009 and must be taken as stated by the Promoter. The $5000 credit will be awarded in the form to be determined by the Promoter at the time of the shopping spree. In the event the cost of the shopping spree (including GST) is in excess of the $5000 allocated, the excess costs will be the responsibility of the winner. In the event that the shopping spree results in expenditure less than $5000, the balance of the $5000 will not be awarded in cash and/or vouchers. $5000 shopping spree must be utilised in the one day at the one shopping spree event.
Selection of items awarded to the winner in any of their prize winning prize pack (including but not limited to colours, designs, style, size and material) will be determined by the Promoter in its complete discretion. Prizes valued in Australian dollars. Prize values mentioned are the recommended retail value as provided by the supplier and are correct at time of printing Any change in the value of the prize occurring between publishing date and date the prize is claimed is not the responsibility of the Promoter. The prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash or other goods and services. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. - It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release document in a form to be determined at the complete discretion of the Promoter.
- The prize is non transferable or exchangeable and not redeemable for cash. All aspects of the prize must be taken together as a package.
- Prize winners are advised that tax implications may arise from their prize winnings and they should seek independent financial advice prior to acceptance of their prize. All taxes (excluding GST) which may be payable as a consequence of receiving the prize(s) are the sole responsibility of the winner.
- Entries not completed in accordance with the rules and conditions or received after the closing date will not be considered. Indecipherable or incomplete entries will be deemed invalid.

Redemption of voucher/letters/ticket/pass is subject to terms and conditions stipulated on voucher/letter/ticket/pass.
- Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence) for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the promotion, including, but not limited to, where arising out of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these conditions of entry; (e) any tax liability incurred by a winner or entrant; (f) participation in the promotion and/or (g) redemption of a prize..
- In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency or disaster, the Promoter reserves the right (subject to reference to all relevant state and territory regulations) to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion.
- If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law, to (a) disqualify any entrant; and/or (b) subject to any written direction given by a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, cancel or terminate the promotion, as appropriate. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of entries. By entering the promotion, the entrant consents to receipt of any email regarding the promotion, from the Promoter and other emails which inform the entrant of the Promoters other publications, products, services and events and to promote third party goods and services it may be interested in.
- The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any loss incurred in the event that the scheduled shopping spree is cancelled, postponed, relocated or unable to occur for any reason whatsoever. The selection of accompanying person (Bronwyn McCahon) is determined by their work / personal schedules and other various factors determined at the complete discretion of the Promoter. No correspondence with be entered into.
- All entries become the property of the Promoter. The collection, use and disclosure of personal information provided in connection with this competition is governed by The Privacy Notice (see contents page of any ACP Magazine for location of privacy notice).
- By entering the competition, the entrant consents to receipt of any email regarding the competition, and other emails which inform the entrant of the Promoter’s other publications, products, services and events and to promote third party goods and services it may be interested in.
